We have worked with the Global Poverty Project now for several years with out first event in Central Park, New York. The music concert helped raise awareness to key issues in the developing world and rewarded those people that helped the causes with points redeemable towards certain benefits, such as tickets to the festival.
As this event was entirely outside, it was requested that we provide the credentials team access to our AllowME event accreditation software platform to manage credential applications for the build and break as well as the concert itself. We constructed a Global Citizen branded, customised registration portal that collected the details and requirements of all staff members, crew and VIPs that would be attending the event. The credentials team was then able to go through the applications and approve passes before assigning them access zones and catering allowances. This process has been streamlined and simplified year on year with approvals taking only seconds now and printing adding only another 20 seconds.
Our printer hiring package provided the event with a set of card printers that could print on large format RFID cards. Once the cards had been printed, their unique RFID number was encoded to the AllowME system which joined the physical card to a digital person record.
Throughout the site we provided security personnel with handheld and long-range rfid access control scanning systems that interrogated each badge and displayed whether that person had access to that zone. Areas that were RFID protected included entrances to the stage, VIP tents, dressings rooms and the green room. The perimeter was also equipped with scanners to restrict members of the public walking through the park and ending up in the production compound!
Our RFID enabled catering kiosks enables the user to scan their credential to gain access to meals. Our simple system then lights up red or green giving the operator the ability to reject people at the door who are not allowed to eat at a specific time or have a certain meal.
With the heightened state of man-made and natural threats to public safety we took on the challenge of deploying a system that if needed could send warnings via text messages to every accredited staff member on site. We carefully constructed a dashboard that could be used via an API on a phone or a tablet that could trigger a series of text messages to be sent to all phone numbers that were collected through the online portal. The easy to use buttons then prompted the operator to type in a verification word before pressing the run button to confirm that the message was to be sent intentionally. The system would then send an automated message with instructions of what to do in case of an emergency or an ‘All Clear’ message to alert people the issue has been resolved.
